Middle States Region Awards Program 2008

December 5, 2007

Dear Chapter Advisors, Officers and Members:

Can you feel the excitement starting?  We can! Nothing can be better then to host the 90th International Convention, except to be the region who is hosting and takes home the most awards!  In a little more than 4 months, we will be that region!

Located in these files are what you need to bring our goals to achievement. These files contain the entry forms for both Internals and Regional Hallmark Awards and also the entry/nomination forms for the MSR Officers’ Project.  There is one file that contains the rubrics.  Those rubrics are to be applied to both International and Regional Awards.

All entries whether for International or Regional Submission are due to their respective places by February 1, 2008.  Packages must be received, not postmarked by February 1st.  Faxes or emailed submissions will not be accepted.

Entry forms and nomination forms must be sent with submissions.  Chapters must use the appropriate forms for submission to the Middle States Region and appropriate forms for submitting International awards to Headquarters.  Neither the MSR nor International Headquarters will forward awards that were sent with incorrect forms to the correct location. All chapters must send one completed copy of the 2008 Middle States Region Summary Sheet (located in Checklist Folder) along with entries.  Chapter must send one copy of the Entry Media Checklist Form 2008 (also in check list folder) with entries to International Headquarters.

Middle States Regional Officers’ Project Award entries are to be sent with your Middle States Region Award entries.

The Middle States Region and International Hallmark awards are identical for Leadership, Service and Scholarship.  The same is for the Paragon and Distinguished Advisor Awards. For the Chapter President, Officer and Member, the rubrics are the same and so are the questions.  The only difference is the name of the award.  International’s uses the term “Distinguished”.  The Middle States Region calls those same awards “Hall of Honor”.  Nothing is different about the submission except the entry form.

If you have any questions regarding the forms, whether for Internationals or Regional, please feel free to contact Mr. John Ortiz at jortiz@gccnj.edu or 856-415-2198. You can also contact Pattie Van Atter at pattievanatter@aol.com or vanattpa@winslow-schools.com.   Also, the members of the Middle States Region Alumni Association are available to provide support at alumniboard@ptkms.org .

The Middle States Region looks forward to hosting the 90th International Convention and bringing home the most awards! Please, reach out to us if you have any questions or concerns or need further clarification.

Wishing you all the best this holiday and hallmark season!
